Klarna selects Adyen as its global acquiring partner for card payments

Adyen , Klarna, Card Payments, FinTech, EuropeAdyen, the global financial technology platform, is strengthening its partnership with Klarna, the AI-powered global payments network and shopping assistant. In this new partnership, Klarna will leverage Adyen’s acquiring capabilities to simplify card payments for its 150 million consumers and 500,000 retail partners worldwide.

Adyen has offered Klarna’s suite of payment methods, including their interest-free Pay Now and pay later options to Adyen customers for over 10 years.

Now, the partnership enters a new strategic phase where Adyen, assumes the role of acquiring bank on behalf of Klarna’s different consumer offerings, starting in Europe, North America, and Asia in 2024. Adyen will, as a payment provider, help Klarna offer more seamless payments to users worldwide.

Klarna has showcased a strong understanding of the modern consumer journey through its payment and shopping services all over the world. Adyen’s technology will help to simplify payments in a global context.

The partnership with Klarna highlights Adyen’s ambition to provide global enterprises with the tools to create seamless payments, scalability and consumer journeys regardless of their market, sales channel or business vertical.
