ANZ Worldline Payments Solutions, ANZ, Worldline, Alipay+, APAC, Malaysia, Payments Network, Payments Acceptance, ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions, a joint venture between ANZ and Worldline has announced that it enables businesses to accept payments through Alipay+

It will enable six digital wallets including Alipay, AlipayHK (Hong Kong SAR China), Kakao Pay (South Korea), Touch ‘n Go eWallet (Malaysia), TrueMoney (Thailand) and GCash (The Philippines).

Through a single Alipay+ enabled Worldline Move 5000 Eftpos terminal, businesses can accept the Alipay+ enabled wallets as well as the other card schemes and wallets they choose to accept, no additional hardware or payment terminal is needed.

To make a purchase, customers simply select their preferred digital wallet on their mobile device and scan the Worldline QR code that automatically displays on the Eftpos terminal.

Petr Ryska, CEO of ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions said its integration of Alipay+ would help businesses in Australia tap into the rebounding international tourism market and wallet holders living in Australia. “International shoppers and travellers seek out businesses that offer their preferred and trusted payment method and even say they’d be more willing to spend with those businesses that do. While choice and familiarity are important for consumers, ease of integration and the consumer experience are top priorities for businesses.

“By accepting more digital wallets through Alipay+, businesses will put themselves in a strong position to access some one billion potential new customers from right across Asia,” he added.

Danny Chung, General Manager of Ant Group in Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea said, “Together with ANZ Worldline, we are thrilled to put Alipay+ solutions at the service of tens of thousands of merchants in Australia, enabling them to better connect with consumers across Asia through the simplicity and convenience of digital payments.”

“We are confident that with ANZ Worldline’s deep industry knowledge and Alipay+’s strength in cross-border digital payments and wide collaboration with some of Asia’s most popular e-wallets, this partnership will yield even more innovation and growth opportunities in the Australian market,” he said.
