Airtel Payments Bank rolls out its eco-friendly debit card in India

Airtel Payments Bank has launched its eco-friendly debit card in India, ascertaining the green way to pay.
The payments platform paves the way for environmental payments by introducing the eco-friendly debit card. The company claims the debit card is made of 99% recycled plastic and emits a low carbon footprint.
The launch underlines the bank’s commitment to sustainability and promoting eco-friendly practices within the financial sector, emphasising the need to practise green finance.
Speaking about the launch Ganesh Ananthanarayanan, Chief Operating Officer of Airtel Payments Bank said, “We are delighted to introduce our new eco-friendly debit cards, made using recycled PVC. Airtel Payments Bank believes in responsible consumption and production for a sustainable future. These cards demonstrate our support for sustainability and commitment to offering a safe and convenient banking experience. Our goal is to provide India with accessible and inclusive banking, driving positive change in the financial industry and offering our customers a seamless and secure payment experience.”
The company promotes the launch of the eco-friendly debit card by asking users on LinkedIn to practice the green way to pay with the Airtel Payments Bank using the R-PVC-based eco-friendly debit card. The card claims to feature a range of eCommerce benefits of up to INR 10,000 and 1 Lakh Insurance cover on your savings bank account.
