Saxo Bank UK appoints Simon Camilleri as COO

Saxo bank, the UK-based FinTech specialising in multi-asset trading and investment, has appointed Simon Camilleri as Chief Operating Officer and board member of Saxo UK Limited.
Camilleri joins from Bank of America Securities where he was working for 17 years, as COO and Director of EMEA Rates and Global Non-Linear Rates Trading.
Prior to that, he was Senior Client Liaison Manager, Global Investment Manager Services, at State Street Bank and Trust.
Camilleri, who began his career at Mellon Trust as a Global Securities Specialist, brings expertise and front-office experience across global markets trading desks, coupled with an analytical background. According to Saxo bank, he has a strong track record of delivering business strategies, generating revenue streams, and driving efficiencies.

Camilleri’s appointment comes at a time when Saxo UK is expanding its offering with growth in investment and trading space.

The company had recently announced the appointment of Joanna Moberly as Head of Legal and Company Secretary which was preceded by Nicholas Wilcock and Michael Ridley joining Saxo UK’s board as Non-Executive Directors in January.
